About CDC

Formed in year 2002, the Cantate Domino Choir (CDC) sings weekly at the Sunday 11.30 am mass at the Church of the Risen Christ. The choir comprises of youths and working adults.

Apart from serving in church, the choir also sings in Archdiocesan events such as the 2004 Eucharistic Congress, the 2005 Rite of Election, the Archdiocesan Papal Memorial Mass for the Late Pope John Paul II in 2005, the World Aids Day Mass 2008 and most recently, the Episcopal Ordination of Archbishop William Goh.

The choir performs occasionally as well, such as during Christmas in St Theresa’s Church Auditorium in 2002, the Serangoon Country Club’s Christmas Light-up in 2003, the SAF Yatch Club and Singapore Yatch Club in 2005. Most recently, the choir had her tenth anniversary concert in St Joseph's Institution (International).

Besides doing regular church hymns, the choir strives to draw from other rich sacred repertoire of music from plainsong chant to present day music including spirituals and gospel music. Regular composers include Mozart, Franck, Bach, Handel and Rutter.

Enjoyment is the key to success of CDC. The members who sing do it because they have fun singing together. It is a great opportunity to make new friends and grow in your spiritual life as well.

The choir meets Sunday morning at 10.30 am for warm-ups and rehearses after mass from 12:45 pm to 2.00pm. If you are interested in joining the choir, please contact us here.
