Having served in over 20 parishes across 3 continents, in varying capacities as conductor and organist, Adrian has a unique smorgasbord of liturgical experiences. Adrian holds a Master of Music Studies (Conducting) degree from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Australia, under the direction of Professor Imre Palló, for which he is the twice recipient of the Alan Bellhouse Memorial Scholarship, the George and Margaret Henderson Scholarship, the Joan and James McIlrath Armstrong Scholarship, and the International Merit Award.

 

In the three years when he was there, he was the Music Director of St Stephen’s Uniting Church in Sydney, and concurrently at St Andrew’s College at the University of Sydney. Before these, he also served as Music Director for St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Manly, conductor at St Francis, Paddington, and organist at St Luke’s Anglican Church, Mosman. He was also assistant conductor of the Willoughby Symphony Chorus.

 

In London, where he earned the  Bachelor of Music (Honours) degree from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama studying composition, voice and organ, he served as sub-organist for the parishes of St Martin’s, Gospel Oaks, and St Bartholomew the Great, West Smithfield (featured in Four Weddings and a Funeral).

 

In Singapore, Adrian was a lecturer of organ studies and musicology at the LaSalle-SIA College of the Arts. He also acted as the Programme Director of the Singapore Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. He was Music Director of the Schola Cantorum of the Church of St Ignatius, and also the conductor of the Archdiocese of Singapore combined choirs for the concluding mass of the Eucharistic Congress at Corpus Christi in 2004 and the Chrism Mass in 2006. Recently, he has served as the Director of Music and Liturgy in the Church of St Mary of the Angels.

 

As an organist, Adrian has given several recitals in Singapore and Sydney. He has performed with the University of Florida Wind Symphony, the Singapore Armed Forces Central Band, Singapore Lyric Opera and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
